Rs 1 Lakh Investment Turned into Rs 98 Lakh with THIS Stock
Nvidia recently surpassed Apple to become the second-largest company globally by market cap, driven by the AI boom. The GPU chipmaker's valuation soared past the $3 trillion mark, placing it alongside tech giants Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft remains the largest company globally with a market cap of $3.156 trillion.
Nvidia's exponential growth over the past year is attributed to the surging demand for GPUs, a crucial component in AI technology. To broaden its retail investor base, Nvidia plans a ten-for-one stock split, effective from June 07. Currently, Nvidia shares are priced at $1,189.42 each.
In the past year alone, Nvidia's stock has seen a staggering 217.55% increase. On a single day, the company added nearly $150 billion to its market capitalization, surpassing the total value of AT&T, as reported by Reuters.
Nvidia's Investment Growth Over 25 Years
If you had invested $1,000 in Nvidia during its IPO 25 years ago, your investment would have grown significantly. Initially priced at $12 per share (approximately Rs 1,000), an investment of Rs 1 lakh would have secured around 100 shares. At today's market price of $1,191.31 (around Rs 98,878) per share, that investment would now be worth approximately Rs 98,878,000.
Nvidia's success is largely due to Wall Street's enthusiasm for AI, contrasting with Apple's struggles in China, the world's largest smartphone market, and declining iPhone demand. Some investors also believe Apple is lagging behind other tech leaders in integrating AI technologies into their products and services.
Nvidia Corporation, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and incorporated in Delaware, is a leading American multinational technology company. It specializes in GPU, data science, and high-performance computing.
